Things Privacy Policy

Overview

Things is a local-first sticker creation and collection app. It does not require an account and the developer does not operate a server that receives your photos or collection. The app uses Android system backup, Google AdMob, and Google ML Kit as described below.

Data you create

Photos, stickers, collection names, notes, categories, tags, dates, quantities, storage-location labels, and sticker walls are stored in the app’s private storage. Things does not send this content to a developer-operated server. A manual backup or exported image is written only to the destination you choose, which may be a local or cloud storage provider.

Android system backup

Things participates in Android system backup. When backup is enabled on your device, Android may encrypt and transmit eligible private app files, databases, and preferences to your Google account so they can be restored later. Google and the Android backup service control this process; the app developer cannot access those backups. You can manage system backup in Android settings.

Advertising

Things uses Google AdMob to show app-open ads. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share an IP address used to estimate approximate location, app interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers such as the advertising ID when available. Google uses this data for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. Data is encrypted in transit. Where required, Things asks for consent before requesting ads and provides ad privacy choices in Settings.

On-device image processing and ML Kit

Photo inputs and segmentation outputs are processed on the device and are not sent to Google. ML Kit may contact Google to download models or updates and may send device and app information, performance metrics, API configuration, input and output sizes, feature events, and error codes for diagnostics and usage analytics. This telemetry does not include the photo content.

Your choices and retention

You can review available advertising consent choices from Settings, reset or delete the advertising ID in Android settings, manage Android system backup, delete individual items, empty the trash, or uninstall Things to remove its local app data. Items in the trash are automatically deleted after 30 days. Files you manually exported must be deleted from their chosen destination separately.

Local collection data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Android backup copies and data handled by Google services are retained according to your Google settings and Google’s applicable policies.

Children

Things is a general-audience creative and collection tool and is not directed specifically to children under 13. The app does not ask users to create an account or directly provide a name, email address, or phone number.

Security, changes, and contact

Private collection data is stored using Android app storage controls. Network data used by Google SDKs is encrypted in transit. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

This policy may be updated when the app’s features or service providers change. The effective date shown above will be revised, and material changes will be disclosed through the app or its Google Play listing.
